Mini Tutorial: Pom Pom Necklace

I'm sure most of us has seen this image floating around on Pinterest. Pretty huh?

But as I looked at the image longer it didn't seem very complicated. So I tried making my own.  I am very pleased with how they turned out. I've included a mini tutorial for those that want to make one too.
Pom Pom Necklace Tutorial

For the pom pom I actually used this tutorial here. Linda has a great tutorial and I didn't feel a need to write a new one. So head on over to Craftaholics Anonymous.
Today I am going to show you how to take that pom pom and make a necklace with it.
Supplies needed: Completed pom pom, chain, pliers, jump ring and some scissors.
Step One: Attach a jump ring to one of the ends.
Step Two: Tie a double knot. Securing the jump ring.
 Step Three: Trim strings
Step Four: Attach jump ring to chain. My chain was too big to slip the ring over so I had to use my pliers to open it up. Then I just closed it once I got it around the chain.
Voila! Your done! Easy right? Now you can enjoy your necklace and make a dozen more. ;)

*Tips for making the pom pom: I found it's better to use a rayon/ polyester tshirt instead of cotton. I liked the finished look better and found it easier to work with. It was tricky for me to get all the shirt tied but it gets better with more practice. Good luck and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Rose Cabochon Bracelet for Mother's Day

I'm really excited about these new bracelets I have available in the shop. This particular one has cream, mustard yellow and gray rose cabochons. I am working on making some others with different colors.

I had originally made it for myself but got so many compliments on it that I decided to share them with others.
Mother's Day is coming up and these would make a great gift! I can also customize them to certain colors if this color scheme isn't your fancy.
The colors I have available are: red, black, chocolate brown, periwinkle, coral, pink, orchid, cream, gray and mustard yellow.
Right now I only have 2 available but am working on making more and listing them in the next few weeks. Quantities are going to be limited so if you'd like to snatch one up now is your chance. They are $15 plus a small shipping charge. A great price for a beautiful bracelet that will receive many compliments.

Missing Earrings- Not any more!

I LOVE jewelry! I always have. But lately I've been loosing some of my earrings. I didn't have a certain place for them and would just lay them anywhere. Until I saw this Tutorial over at H is for Handmade. A simple and cheap way to store all of your earrings.

Here is my version of the Lace Earring Holder

I found this ugly brown picture frame at D.I. for $1 and spray painted it blue.
I'd bought a bunch of lace from D.I. about a year ago. Not really sure what to do with it. Until now!
Here it is. Hung right above my dresser and jewelry box.

Now I don't have any problems finding a pair of earrings to wear. They are all right there. After making it though I can tell that I need some new earrings for myself.
Thanks Amy for the great tutorial! Head on over to her blog and check it out. You won't be disappointed.
