Car seat Canopy

I made this car seat canopy a while back to cover up my son from the cold winter weather. Before I would just put a blanket over top but it would always come off and was hard to carry. This is SO much better! I love it! I got the tutorial from Creatively Christy.

I used this fun argyle print but then realized after I sewed it sideways. Oh well. I still think it looks great, don't you?
I had a bunch of minky fabric that I used for the inside to keep my little guy nice and warm. This was the first time that I had ever made a button hole. It took me a while to figure out how to use it on my sewing machine but I really like the buttons on top instead of velcro.

  1. Oh my gosh! You have great timing! My sister is having a baby in April and she told me she that she's always wanted one so I was JUST thinking of searching for a tutorial. Thank you for sharing this and I love yours! It's so cute!

  2. I like the buttons too! fancier than velcro but not as messy looking as ties. I didn't notice that the argyle was sideways until you mentioned it. I love this and I wish I still had a reason to make it...alas, my little friend has already outgrown his infant Ollie seat. Maybe I'll be more on top of things with the next baby...
